Four Greystone Health Centers Win AHCA Silver Award

Four Greystone Health Network nursing homes in Florida have received the Silver National Quality Award by the American Health Care Association (AHCA) for 2017. The four nursing homes include: The Lodge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Ocala, Citrus Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hernando, North Rehabilitation Center is Saint Petersburg, and Sunset Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center in Venice.
To receive this distinction, the health centers had to undergo an extensive application process. Applications were then judged by trained examiners who provided feedback and noted opportunities for improvement to support on-going learning.
“The AHCA Quality Awards Program is all about striving to do better, continually enhancing patient and resident care,” CEO Connie Bessler said. “This distinction further strengthens our position as a leader in long term care. I am extremely proud of the teams at these centers for achieving their lofty goals and reaching this important milestone.”
According to AHCA, the Level II Silver Award signifies achievement in quality. At this level, applicants continue to learn and develop effective approaches that help improve performance and health care outcomes. Applicants are assessed by their ability to provide a thorough assessment of their systematic approaches and the deployment of these approaches to improve quality care.
“I am honored to recognize this year’s Silver award recipients for their dedication to delivering quality care,” said Alana Wolfe, Chair of the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board of Overseers. “I applaud the Greystone Health Network facilities’ ability to effectively apply the Baldrige criteria to improve quality performance.”
The goal of the awards is to provide applicants with the tools and resources they need for continuous performance improvement. Members must first achieve the Level I Bronze Award before they are eligible for Level II Silver. Silver awardees are eligible to apply for the Level III Gold Award the following year.
