Electronic Health Records
Electronic Health Records

In the age of technology, new products and programs are constantly being implemented across the healthcare field. One of the biggest changes sweeping across the healthcare industry is the implementation of Electronic Health Records, or EHR, at hospitals and health centers nationwide. With such a widespread change taking place, it’s important to know what EHR entails.
EHR are an electronic program for maintaining and recording patient data and information. This system will allow healthcare providers to better share patient records and provide the right care at the right time. With almost 80% of hospitals already going digital, EHR will allow Greystone’s nursing homes to better work with physicians and medical vendors and provide real time alerts on our member’s health.
Staff utilizing EHR will be able to better prescribe medication. In fact, EHR has already shown a reduction in medication errors by up to 48%. Nurses and physicians alike will be able to easily retrieve member’s information within second, increasing efficiency and quality of care. With nursing staff able to capture member vitals and documentation via touchscreen and computer use EHR will become fully integrated across the healthcare field.
Technological innovation through EHR is designed to improve our member experience and increase quality of care. The adoption of EHR is an ongoing process and represents a continuous effort to remain forward thinking with member’s care first and foremost in mind. Greystone has long been defined by the higher caliber of member-centered care that we deliver daily in our communities, and as Greystone implements its own customized and carefully selected EHR system we will be able to better serve our members and provide an advanced standard of member care.
